Why I’m Opting For A 45 Minute Walk From The Gym Instead Of Driving

Last week I decided to cut the crazy low calories diet.

Now this week the calories are slightly higher and to balance this I need to get more output in so that I can carry on seeing such great results.

There are many ways to get more output in and depending on your situation, as a coach, I will prescribe different methods for different people.

For me steps are always a big winner.

There’s a few benefits over traditional cardio or HIIT which is increasingly popular.

The main benefits are:

1. It has pretty much zero impact on recovery as it’s very low intensity.
2. It is very easy to get in. You don’t even need to be in the gym.

Starting this week in my own weight loss plan I have therefore prescribed myself 8,000 to 10,000 steps per day.

Due to me working from home this means I have to consciously get out and get these steps in as my days, other then the gym, are very sedate.

On top of this I’m all about efficiency so the way I see it is if I walk back from the gym I ‘save’ 15 minutes. Instead of a 15 minute drive back and a 45 minute walk totalling an hour instead I just do one 45 minute walk.

Not massive amounts of time but since I go to the gym 4 times a week that’s an hour saved.

I’m not saying everyone will be able to do this but have a think and see how you could fit a little more movement into your day without impacting your time too much.

Adding extra steps into your day could be the key you need to finally getting over that weight loss plateau.

Now, make sure you read this too.
